Oneonta Soccer Club

The mission of the Oneonta Soccer Club is to foster the growth of youth, through the sport of soccer for individuals under the age of nineteen. We are responsible for the administration and management of mission-related activities within the greater Oneonta area.

The Soccer Club has teams from U-8 Co-ed, up to U-19 Boys and Girls. These teams travel anywhere from Milford to Elmira to play soccer. The Club is associated with the Broome County Soccer Association, and plays teams from that geographical area. Registered teams include players from Milford, Davenport, Worcester, Delhi, Otego, Laurens, and Morris. Many of the players are on their respective High School varsity and junior varsity teams. Some go on to play soccer in college, many more apply the lessons learned through participation in a team sport to make them a responsible citizen, a giving community member, and a better person.

Tentative Schedule posted!!  see the Games Schedules link

Outdoor practices usually starts the first week in April, depending on field conditions.
Games start April 19 and end in late June.
Some teams will enter tournaments during the summer- if there are enough players interested. Fees for tournaments are not covered by the Club.
Optional indoor play is available for most teams during the winter.

The organization is made up of volunteers- coaches, parent representatives, directors, and board members who share the same philosophy. They share a love for the game and what it can do for the children of our local communities.

Parents- here are some ways you can help your coach:
Tell your coach the day St. Mary's holds Confirmation it effects one age group. They may not want a game that day.
Tell your coach the weekend the Safety Patrol goes to Washington it affects another age group- again not a good game day.
Tell your coach the day half the team is either going to or in a dance recital.
Don't plan a birthday party on game day.

Remember- Both Broome County and Otsego County schools are on vacation the week before the first scheduled games. Parents, that means if you don't get your kids back from vacation by Sunday, your coach will be hard pressed to field a team. Coaches should have this discussion during the first week of practice.

For information about what age-group your child falls in, please see the link labeled Age Group Chart.
