Fields
The new Susquehanna Soccer Fields sign was manufactured and donated by Prolifiq on River Street in Oneonta. The Soccer Club would like to thank Prolifiq for their continuing commitment to the youth of our community. The U-14 through U-19 fields- SUSQUEHANNA PARK
-From points southwest of Oneonta (Binghamton):
As you come close to exit 13, look to your right and notice the parking lot full of School Busses, the fields are next to this fenced in facility.
Get off at Exit 13, (Hall of Fame exit) Turn RIGHT at the top of the exit Stop sign (not toward the HOF), go 200 yards, Turn RIGHT onto Silas Lane, follow the road down past the Waste Water Treatment Plant, past the small Dog Pound Building, in between the Truck Scales for the Solid Waste Facility, and the City of Oneonta Maintenance Buildings. Do not get in line to go over the scales to the dump, stay to the right. Head toward the Oneonta City School Bus garage, turn left just before the gates to enter the bus garage, follow the dirt road to the fields.
-From points east of Oneonta (Albany)
I-90 to exit 25A (I-88) west 60 miles Get off at Exit 13, (Hall of Fame exit) Turn LEFT at the Yield sign, (not toward the HOF), go over I-88 travel about 500 yards, (DO NOT take what looks like the first right as it is the off ramp from I-88, see big Wrong Way sign part way down) Turn RIGHT onto Silas Lane. ( If you go over the river, you have gone too far) Follow Silas Lane down past the Waste Water Treatment Plant, past the small Dog Pound Building, in between the Truck Scales for the Solid Waste Facility, and the City of Oneonta Maintenance Buildings. Do not get in line to go over the scales to the dump, stay to the right. Head toward the Oneonta City School Bus garage, turn left just before the gates to enter the bus garage, follow the dirt road to the fields. Bring Bug Repellant!
The U-8, U10 & U-12 fields- Neahwa and Catella Park
(through Neahwa Park)
From points east of Oneonta (Albany) area-
Get off at exit 15 (Main Street) at the bottom of the ramp bear to the right, merge onto Lettis Highway. Follow Lettis Highway to the light at Main Street. You want to be in the left lane, as you will turn LEFT onto Main Street at the light. Immediately put your left signal on to prepare for the next LEFT onto Grand Street (across from the Hess Gas station). You will be looking for a sign that has a big baseball on it, and the words "Damasche Field". After turning LEFT onto Grand Street, go 200 yards turn slight RIGHT onto Division Street (Octagon House on corner) (and Damasche Field sign). Follow Division Street around and down the hill. As you start down the hill put your left signal on as the next turn is before the very bottom of the short hill. Turn LEFT into Neahwa Park (Damasche Field sign), cross over the rail road tracks, over a small narrow bridge and take an immediate LEFT onto Catella Lane- do not go straight past Damasche Field (big brown fence around it). After you have made the left the U-8 & U10 fields are along the road the U-10 field is also called Brenner field, or SocBren. To get to Catella (U12) you will go down long straight road that goes past the U-10 field and another baseball field and under Lettis Highway and into Catella Park. The U-12 field is on your right.
From points south west of Oneonta (Binghamton area)- This gets a little tricky. This is not shown on the map below.
Note: there is no such exit for people on I-88 heading west, and there is no way to get on I-88 heading east from this exit, so people coming from the Albany area or heading to the Albany area must use the directions above this, listed as From points east of Oneonta..
From points Southwest of Oneonta, Get off Exit 14- Main Street, turn LEFT at the stop sign, go under I-88, stay in the right lane, go past Alfresco's Restaurant (on the right) turn RIGHT at the light onto Neahwa Pl.. Proceed through the flood gate- earthen dam with cement sides, and into Neahwa Park, go around the circle heading straight again on War Memorial Dr. Pass all the recreational softball fields, turn LEFT just past the war memorial, (you can really only go left) follow this to a stop sign. You are now looking at the big brown fence surrounding Damasche Feild- home of the Oneonta Tigers. Proceed until you are just past the parking lot on your right, Turn RIGHT onto Catella Lane. (if you go straight you will go over a small bridge, over the rail road tracks and leave Neahwa Park) The U-10 field is that green space to your right. To get to the U-12 (Catella) fields keep going past the U-10 field. Pass under Lettis Highway, into Catella Park. The field is on your right.
OBTW if you have to bring other children with you, and they don't feel like watching the game, there is a great Skate Board park, but you have to wear a helmet to use the park, and the rules are enforced. They can walk to it from the field.
