Coaching Info

Here's a guide for new coaches and a general timeline. 

Coaching certification is not hard but it does take time to find a Grassroots course.  

All NEW COACHES 

Step 1

Get approved by the board.  Fill out the coaching application and email it to the board.

Step 2

After you have been approved, register to be a coach .  You will need to get a background check and other coaching certifications.   The most important of which is to get a Grassroots License.  The club will reimburse you for taking this course.

Step 3

Send an email to the Registrar.  Let them know you've registered and that you are planning to enter a team into a fall league

Fall - Begin planning in June

In order to participate in Fall travel soccer the coaches need coaching passes and a certified roster.  You can get these things from the Registrar

Check for exact dates and register for the Broom County Fall League

Winter - Begin planning in October

In order to coach you still need to be approved and background checked from steps 1-3 above.  

Winter soccer obviously means finding a place to play indoors.  Here are some of the options.

  1. 434 Sports Plex  - Binghamton

  2. Great Binghamton Sports Complex - Binghamton

  3. Afrims - Albany

Spring - Begin planning in January

In order to coach you still need to be approved and background checked from steps 1-3 above.  

Spring travel soccer plays from from April - June.  Make sure to check the dates with the league you plan to play in.

Broome County Soccer Association - Binghamton and surrounding area

Capital Distric Youth Soccer League - Albany and surrounding area
